Calumet Montana Conducts River Drill Exercises

Great Falls, MT – Calumet Montana is committed to safety and environmental responsibility. To demonstrate this commitment, the company is conducting a planned river spill response drill June 25 and 26. This drill simulates a real-world response to a potential spill to prepare the team to react swiftly and effectively.

“Our first priority is to operate safely and responsibly,” said Kollin Schade, Plant Manager. “Calumet regularly conducts drills to ensure our team is ready to respond to spills, fires, severe weather, and other potential disruptions. These drills reinforce our commitment to the safety of our team members, the community, and the environment.”

What to Expect:

  • Residents near the Missouri River between Black Eagle and Cochrane Dams may observe the deployment of containment booms during the drill.
  • There is no need for public concern – this is a planned training exercise.

Community Collaboration:
Calumet will partner with local businesses and agencies in this drill, including:

  • CHS Nutrition
  • Philips 66
  • Great Falls Fire Rescue
  • Cascade County Sheriff Search and Rescue
  • City of Great Falls Environmental and Utility Divisions
